There is a class of herbicides called pyridine carboxylic acids that is used to control a wide variety of broad-leaf weeds.

Coconut coir is a very popular and inexpensive sustainable organic material that can be used for bedding material in worm bins. Coir is very useful when you start a new worm bin and don’t have a lot of organic matter for the worms to eat and live in. Coconut coir will give your red wigglers a good start in their new home. Some worm composters come with a small brick of coir but it’s always a good idea to buy some extra.

Coir has many other uses for the homeowner and gardener.

It can be used as a soil amendment for new flower or vegetable beds. When using coir as a soil amendment your plants require less fertilizer, develop more elaborate and stronger root systems, and are more resilient to disease, pathogens and weeds.

By adding one part coir to two parts top soil you can make a perfect growing media for container or potted plants.

It replaces peat moss and perlite (which are not sustainable, renewable resources) and have excellent air space and water holding capacity (Holds 7 times its weight in water).

Coir is natural coarse fibers extracted from the fibrous outer shell of a coconut. Coir is a 100% natural and renewable resource. It has spongy characteristics, giving it excellent air space and drainage with a very high water holding capacity making it ideal for use in your garden and for worm composting bins.

Buy coconut coir bricks in bulk and save up to 25%.
