The process of using worms to produce compost is called vermicomposting.

Worms can decompose organic matter without the additional human physical effort that a rotating composter or compost bin requires. It is also a great educational tool for kids. They love the worms and it helps explain the importance of composting to them and how important it is to reduce the waste flow to landfills.
